Nicolae Boangiu (literary pseudonym Nicolae Coande)

Born on September 23, 1962, Osica de Sus, Olt. He has a master's degree in philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy-Sociology Craiova, with a paper on the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. He has been working since 2006 at the "Marin Sorescu" National Theater (in turn literary referent, literary secretary, artistic consultant). Member of the Romanian Writers' Union (1996), member of PEN Club Romania (2016).

Founding editor of TNC magazine, "SpectActor" (2006-present).

He is the director and moderator of the "SpectActor Meetings", a cultural event hosted by the National Craiove since 2010, "Poetry Sundays in the theater", "Writers at Tradem" (2010-2015). He is the organizer of the "Ion D. Sîrbu Colloquiums" (five editions), coordinator of the Craiova Shakespeare Festival program books (2006-present). Initiator and coordinator of the "Gathering of Poets" (2016-present), respectively the "Craioveni Playwrights Club" (2017-present). He initiated at the National Theatre, the "SpectActor Magazine Library" (2020). He is the coordinator of the Festival of Literature and Dramaturgy "Patrel Berceanu" (2019-present). Before 1989, he read poetry at the Cenaclul "Ramuri", Craiova, led by Marin Sorescu. Important literary critics have commented on his poetry and books: Marin Mincu, Mircea Martin, Alex. Cistelecan, Gheorghe Grigurcu, Ștefan Borbely, Ștefania Mincu, Constantin Cublesan, Adrian Dinu Rachieru, Daniel Cristea-Enache, Mircea A. Diaconu, Ștefan Ioan Ghilimescu, Cristian Livescu et al.

He made his debut with the poem plaque "In margine" (Ed. Ramuri, 1995), awarded by the Romanian Writers' Union. For the same book, he previously received the "Nichita Stănescu" Festival Award, Turnu Severin (jury president, Cezar Ivănescu).

Prizes: The poetry prize of "Ramuri" magazine (1988, 2006), the Writers' Union Prize for debut (1995), the Writers' Union Prize for poetry (2003), the "Petre Pandrea" Prize of Mozaicul magazine ( 2004), "Hyperion" magazine poetry prize (2013), "Argeș" magazine prize (2013), "Radu Enescu" prize of "Familia" magazine (2017). In 2019, he received the "Mihai Eminescu" Award of the Romanian Academy for the year 2017 for the poetry plaque "Plagiarist. 1962".

In November 2012 he was invited by the Goethe Institut Berlin at the meeting of theater experts from South-Eastern Europe, on the topic of documentary theatre. Participation in international poetry festivals in Romania (Bucharest, Iasi, Brașov), Austria (Höeflein an der Donau), poetry readings in Spain (Alcala de Henares).
