The applications for the 4th edition of the International Festival for Young Directors THEATER NETWORKING TALENTS / Craiova / 2-5  July 2020 start now!

The „Marin Sorescu” National Theater from Craiova (Romania) is launching the open call for the fourth edition of the International Young Theatre Directors Showcase THEATER NETWORKING TALENTS (TNT) / 2020.

One of the most important, dynamic and innovative theater festivals in Romania is looking for 2020 alumni of theatre directing (BA or MA programs), to bring in the spotlight the creation of young directors from Romania and abroad.

Designed as a presentation platform for the freshest and most relevant visions of the new generation, TNT will bring together artists from all fields of the performing arts and new media. There will be presented unique performances, interdisciplinary meetings, audio and visual installations, debates and workshops.

The THEATER NETWORKING TALENTS Festival is an important first contact of the fresh graduates with the professional theater environment of Romania. The young graduates are invited to present their diploma work (theatre performance) and meet future colleagues and collaborators, theater managers, artistic directors, independent producers or festival programmers.

This is the second year in wich the competition and the jury are replaced by the attendance at the festival of the representatives of over twenty Romanian theatres (managers, artistic directors, programmers), who are encouraged to offer the graduates invitations for further collaborations in their future theatrical seasons. In which concerns the „Marin Sorescu” National Theater, the artistic director, Vlad Drăgulescu, will select one of the participating graduates to stage a new performance at I.D. Sîrbu hall, in 2021.

Enrollment details:

The deadline for sending the applications is May 5, 2020, to the following email adress: tntcraiova@gmail.com, including the following:

• Title of performance (*or play)
• Name of stage director and CV
• Transfer link to the recorded performance*
• Completed Registration Form

*if the graduates have not completed the work on the show at the time of the application, the recording of the performance can be replaced by a written text or a video testimony in which the participant explains his choice and the concept, as well as a 15-30 minute recording of a representative rehearsal.

The organizers will cover the transport, accommodation and meal expenses for all the participants.

The selected participants will be announced on May 15, 2020 and the performances will take place at the „Marin Sorescu” National Theater in Craiova (Ion D. Sîrbu Hall, and Atelier Hall) and at the Department of Arts of the University of Craiova (Studio Hall and Buia Auditorium).
