
The "Marin Sorescu" National Theater in Craiova celebrates Romania's National Day through a series of special events, intended to pay tribute to national history and culture. The events will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the theater headquarters and will offer the public the opportunity to view images and objects important to national history.
Exhibition "Carol I - Founder of Modern Romania"
Starting at 11:30 and 13:30, the National Theater in Craiova presents a special exhibition dedicated to King Carol I of Romania. The exhibition includes photographs, historical documents and personal items of King Charles I, offering a fascinating foray into the life and times of this important historical figure. The exhibition is brought to Craiova from the Peleș National Museum, through the Educăm Împreună project.
Projectionof the event show "100 for Romania - Documentary Theater"
From 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. the public is invited to attend the screening of the show-event "100 for Romania - Documentary Theatre", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Union in 1918. The show took place on the theater's esplanade , in 2018 and was broadcast live on TVR.
"100 for Romania - Documentary Theatre" is a historical, documentary and artistic theater show, by recreating some of the most important moments in national history that led to the moment of the Union of Transylvania with Romania. This impressive production pays tribute to the centenary of the Great Union and offers a unique insight into key moments in the country's recent history.
After the screening, participants will have the opportunity to admire in detail the spectacular costumes used in the "100 for Romania" production. The costume exhibition will be open to the public until 5:00 p.m., offering an opportunity to explore in depth the meticulous detail and design of each costume on display. This exhibition is an exciting foray into the creative world of theater costumes, giving attendees the chance to appreciate the work of the artists and artisans behind these creations.
