Craiova Playwrights Club

The Club of Dramaturgilor Craioveni aims to highlight the dramatic text that is written in Craiova and to offer those interested in theater new proposals for the Craiova scene. The first edition of the club took place on September 8, 2016 and had the playwright Gheorghe Truță as a guest. Afterwards, they were present with plays read by actors of the National Theater Marin Sorescu, playwrights Toma Grigorie, Cornel Mihai Ungureanu, Florin Oncesescu, Marius Neacșu.

During 2018-2019, the Craiovani Playwrights Club had as guests:

  • Edition 26 October 2018: Mihai Ioana, poet, playwright, professor at the "Decebal" Technical College, Drobeta Turnu Severin.

Born on October 1, 1960, in the city of Lupeni, Hunedoara county, of parents from Oltenia, Mihai Ioana is a member of the Romanian Writers' Union, Oltenia Branch and Member of the Pavel Dan Cenacle, organized next to the Student House in Timisoara .

He debuted in the literary press in the magazine Orizont in 1980 and the debut volume is entitled Cu ociul liber, Prier, Craiova, 2002 (Alice Voinescu Foundation Award at the National Poetry Festival The Meaning of Love, 2001).

In 2015 the drama Blana leopardului was nominated for the competition The best Romanian play of the year 2014, organized by UNITER.

  • Edition November 9, 2018: Cristi Nedelcu, journalist and writer from Craiova.

Cristi Nedelcu debuted in 1992 in Dilema magazine and collaborated with several literary magazines - Dilema, Scrisul Românesc, Mozaicul (where she currently owns the theatrical chronicle). At the same time, he worked in television, where he managed several TV stations (Terra Sat Craiova, TVS Craiova, Alege TV). In 2001, in Târgoviște, he won the 2nd prize at the National Literature Competition for the play Which side of the bars?

He made his publishing debut in 2006 with the bilingual volume Semnări sobre Shakespeare/ Essays on Shakespeare, launched during the 5th edition of the International Shakespeare Festival. In 2006 he published the volume Canonul marginalului, a book presented during the II edition of the International Anthropology Conference Anthropoest.

In 2006, he received the Tiberiu Iliescu award from Mozaicul magazine. In 2008 he published the theater volume Vești proaste, and in 2013 the book The whole world is a scene/the whole world is a show. Cultural paradigms of societies. In 2016 he obtained the title of doctor in philology with the thesis Semiotics of the bank. Since 2010, he is a member of the Romanian Writers' Union.

  • November 26, 2018 edition:Julien Caragea, poet and playwright, French language teacher.

Born in 1958, Julien Caragea is a graduate of the Faculty of Philology, Craiova, Romanian-French section, class of 1984. He is currently a French language teacher in Piscu-Vechi commune. He published the volumes of poems Aria clopotarului nebun, Ed. Genessa, Craiova, 2002, Wild Biciclist, Ed. TracusArte, Bucharest, 2012, Poveste de dormit maturii, Ed. Diacritic, Timișoara, 2015. He collaborates with the magazines Ramuri, Viața Românească, Mozaic , Argeș, Acolada, Literary Romania, Confessions, Family, Paradigma, SpectActor, etc. He wrote the play "The Mute White Cow" as well as a children's play.

  • February 6, 2019 edition:Horia Dulvac, essayist, prose writer and playwright, member of the Writers' Union, Craiova branch, member of ASPRO (Writers' Association Professionals from Romania). During his university studies in Timișoara (199-1984) he was the editor of the "Forum Studențesc" magazine, a member of the "Pavel Dan" cenacle of the University of Timișoara and an active cultural presence, alongside the older 1980s generation of Banat, represented by writers from Timișoara such as Daniel Vighi, Marcel Tolcea, Ioan T. Morar, Ion Monoran, Mircea Bârsilă et al. During this period, he wins numerous literary prizes for essay and prose at the national stages of the "Festival of Student Art and Creation", he receives the prize for prose at the competition national prose competition "Zilele Liviu Rebreanu", Bistriţa (jury president, Mircea Horia Simionescu). Editorial debut with the volume of prose "Ghidirmic's Woman" (Ramuri Publishing House, 1994), with the support of " To the Soros Foundation for an Open Society". The volume included prose rejected in manuscript at the "Facla" publishing house in Timișoara and the "Scrisul Românesc" publishing house in Craiova between 1985-1990. In 1997, the "Marineasa" publishing house included it in the "Zona Anthology. Prose writers and poets from Timișoara from the 80s and 90s", and in 2000 he publishes the volume of essays "Angrijorări san mandat".

Also in 2000, it is included in the anthology "Romanian Writers from the 80s-90s", author Ion Bogdan Lefter (Ed. "Paralela 45"). Publishes the volumes of essays "Discourses and parts" (2005, Ed. "Aius"), "Revenues of alterity" (2005, Publishing house "Grinta"), <strong "Ways of possibility" (2011, Ed. "Dacia xxi"), "Face and curtain" (2013, Publishing TipoMoldova), "Entropy and beauty, application on a sunflower" (2016, "Eikon" Publishing House, Bucharest, afterword by Ion Bogdan Lefter). In 2009, the prose volume "Efect Doppler" (Ed. "Scrisul Românesc") appears, volume republished in 2016 (Ed. "Tracus Arte"), with an afterword by Ioan Es. Pop and Andrei Codrescu. The volume was rewarded with the award of the Craiova Branch of the Writers' Union (2010). It is included in the anthology "The most beautiful prose of the year" (Ed. "Adenium", 2014). He is the winner of several literary prizes: the "Tiberiu Iliescu" Prize, offered by the Mozaicul Foundation and magazine (2009), the magazine whose editor and member of the editorial board he was between 1997-2018, the prize for the essay of the Publishing House and the Foundation " Romanian Writing" (2009) et al.

In 2017, the play "Rigor mortis. A simple crisis of satiety" was awarded at the 12th edition of the "Mihail Sorbul" National Theater Festival, Botoșani. In 2018, at the 13th edition of the festival, the play "Museum of the Avortons" received the grand prize.

Actors Angel Rababoc and Petronela Zurba performed the two roles of the play "Rigor Mortis. A simple crisis of satiety", in one act, at the hall "Ia te uita!" of the Marin Sorescu National Theatre.
