Synopsis
In patriarchy, women endure, support, serve, listen, help, protect. Women are not aggressive, they do not impose themselves, they do not protest, they do not demand, they do not take risks, they do not take up space.
In the show Maybe by 2301, we won’t need another feminist show, three performers, Maria-Luiza, Anca and Mariana, talk about normalized daily experiences and statistics that seem unreal, about contradictory roles and intangible norms subtly propagated in society.
Some situations seem familiar, others are at least uncomfortable. Some may amuse you, others will frustrate you. It is the space in which women live. Chaotic, absurd, oppressive and unjust. It is at the same time a context in which we act with solidarity, courage and empathy.
Maybe in 2301 we won't need such a spectacle anymore. For now, we're here.
The show "Maybe by 2301, we won't need another feminist show" is presented within the CONNECT Contemporary Dance Festival, 4th edition, organized by the Delazero Association, with the support of the "Marin Sorescu" National Theater Craiova.
