The "Marin Sorescu" National Theater in Craiova opens the 2025-2026 season with the show "Gaițele", by Alexandru Kirițescu, directed by Alexandru Boureanu, on September 19 and 20, at the Amza Pellea Hall.
The artistic team includes Carmen Stanciu, who signs the stage version, the set is created by architect Andreea Simona Negrilă, and the costumes by Alexandra Constantin. Actress Mirela Cioabă signs the director's assistant.
With an emblematic title for the Craiova audience, the show Gaițele, directed by Alexandru Boureanu, created in the 2017-2018 season, gets a new cast version, in which the role of Aneta Duduleanu goes to actress Raluca Păun, one of the most beloved by the Craiova theater audience. Alongside Raluca Păun, spectators have the opportunity to admire the Craiova actors in two casts:

The play "Gaițele" (or "Cuibul de viespi") is one of the valuable comedies of the interwar period in national dramaturgy, it belongs to the writer Al. Kirițescu, and the action of the play takes place right in Craiova. "Gaițele" (1932) is the play that closes the writer's bourgeois trilogy, which also includes the plays Marcel and Marcel (or Anișoara and Temptation) and Florentina. The playwright Al. Kirițescu sketches a savory portrait of the petty bourgeoisie. Perhaps the closest to the Caragiale comedy, through its satirical virulence and undeniable literary value, the play "Gaițele" most clearly reflects the writer's critical attitude towards the society of his time.
With the role of Aneta Duduleanu, actress Raluca Păun completes a constellation of roles that she has created and plays perfectly, with joy, passion and strength on the stage of the Craiova National Theatre, in whose troupe she has been since 2003. Raluca Păun is a graduate of the University of Craiova, Department of Arts and Media, acting specialization, class of 1997–2001, in the class of professor Ilie Gheorghe. She has also had an intense artistic activity in the area of independent theatre, both as an actress and as a director of shows produced by the Teatrulescu Company in Craiova.
"It's true that I played more comic roles. At Afrim I played many comic roles in which humor was combined with a little strength, with sensitivity. And Polonius is a character who has humor, at least, for the audience. At one point, I felt unhappy because of this, but over time I felt that laughter means strength. It's not very easy to make people laugh without nonsense, without easy humor. A person goes with you much more easily when you make them laugh. Then, you can give them a spoonful of something else, because they fall in love with you, love you, go with you. I started to embrace this thing, I no longer think "God, but I only play comedy, let me play something more dramatic, squeeze a tear".

Alexandru Boureanu is an actor, director, manager of the National Theatre "Marin Sorescu" and professor at the University of Craiova, he directed many shows at the National Theatre of Craiova, including the show "Occident Express", by Matei Vișniec and "String yourself, pearls!", by Victor Eftimiu. Alexandru Boureanu has developed two doctoral theses "Causality and effects of atypical performance forms" (University of Arts "George Enescu", Iași) and "The impact of modern management in the activity of independent theatre companies" (Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest). A tenacious professional, Alexandru Boureanu has deepened his artistic studies in several postgraduate specialization programs: National University of Theatre and Cinematography "I.L. Caragiale" - Master in performance direction; Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle - Engineering of intercultural exchanges (French Government Scholarship: Maison des Cultures du Monde); Conservatoire de Lausanne – Researcher in sociology of culture/theatre (Scientific research (UNESCO Paris Scholarship: Keizo Obushi); National University of Theatre and Cinematography “I.L. Caragiale” – Theory and aesthetics of theatre; Academy of Theatre Arts Saint Petersburg – Theatre directing and pedagogy (Romanian Government Scholarship – OBNSS).
