ACTING OUT is an interdisciplinary performance (theater, text, live music, video) about body, memory and resistance, inspired by the story of Esthera Magyar-Gonda – dancer, anti-fascist activist and one of the architects of Romanian modern dance. Starting from deportation to Transnistria, renunciation of the stage and transformation through education, the show probes how the body becomes an archive of trauma and a tool of political and pedagogical struggle.
At the center of the performance is actress Katia Pascariu, who intertwines Esthera's biography with her own bodily history: a journey marked by pressures, abuses, but also by forms of resistance and rediscovery through alternative pedagogies. Director Mihai Lukács refuses dominant theatrical conventions and proposes a collage of gestures, silences, live music and video images, in which the audience is invited to reconstruct meaning from discontinuity and absence.
