Poet Anton Jurebie is Nicolae Coande's guest at the "Marin Sorescu" National Theater. Anton Jurebie will hold the conference "Against Total Blackness" and will read from the volume published in 2024, "Forms of Life Without Defense" (Ed. Autograf MJM, Craiova), Thursday, November 6, 5:00 p.m. - as part of the "Poets' Gathering" 2025 event. Venue: HUB Shakespeare Craiova (former School Library).

Anton Jurebie (born June 15, 1962, Balta Verde, Mehedinți County) debuted with the poetry collection DESTRUCTIVE ELEGATIONS, 2003, for which he received the award from the Craiova Branch of the Romanian Writers' Union. "A world of hopelessly condemned victims is Jurebie's world, perceived with the agonizing acuity of a land-based candor that the poet himself provocatively tears apart. The ethical fundamentalism that lies at the foundation of the poems could only lead to injury, and a certain repressed fervor is transformed into imprecations and sarcasms. Jurebie treats God with insolence and coyness instead of piety and devotion because he believes that these are more effective prayers. What he wants to denounce is divine complicity in dehumanization, divine bourgeoisification as such. The series of injustices that accumulate is transformed, in fact, into an ontological injustice that the poet denounces in verses written with a sharp knife. – Al. "Anton Jurebie's new volume... contains texts that reminded me, reviving it after twenty years, of the surprise I had reading a few of his poems in a magazine (could it have been Ziua literară?) from the early 2000s. A mature debutant with Elegii struztăţătoare (2003), the poet from the Mehedința bank of the Danube remained a much too little known eccentric, a marginal detached from any literary game or coterie.
