Between February 1 and March 15, 2023, the public of the National Theater in Craiova is invited to meet the famous Shakespearean characters in the exhibition Romeo and Juliet from Cluj in the foyer of the Amza Pellea Hall.
In 2013, during the restoration-rehabilitation works of the Franciscan Monastery in Museum Square, the archaeologists of the National Museum of Transylvanian History in Cluj-Napoca brought to light a tomb, where those found there were still holding hands.
The novelty of the discovery attracted the attention of specialists and the press and was also reported by the prestigious British publication The Daily Mail and the exhibition was named after characters whose love inspired writers and artists Romeo and Juliet.
The public attending the performances and events organized or hosted by the Marin Sorescu National Theatre from 1 February to 15 March 2023 is invited to visit the exhibition of images and information panels provided by the National Museum of Transylvanian History in Cluj- Napoca.
The project is part of the EDUCATE TOGETHER programme.
