CORK is a feminist emancipation, anti-violence show-manifesto.

CORK unfolds, questions, and unravels an unbalanced power dynamic, in which abuse and psychological violence gradually insinuate themselves, in subtle ways, until they pervade almost every interaction and take over the survivor's mental health.

Through a theater-within-the-theater performance, CORK reveals and deconstructs a type of aggression that is less visible, but present in various artistic and educational work environments – the psychological violence that occurs in power relationships, often between young professionals and people in the position of teacher/mentor/guide.

CORK shows how patriarchy is a socio-political system conducive to unleashing violence in its multiple forms and how dangerous this specific type of abuse can be, precisely through its invisibility and socio-cultural normalization, since childhood.

CORK encourages empathy, emancipation, solidarity and breaking the silence about psychological violence.

You are like a starfish among other starfish.

Water-borne Or like a leaf on the lake

Or like you're smoothly slaloming through planets and solar systems

Or like in the rare moments when we trust and lean back, we let ourselves be carried away

When we're happy to be here in this water with our bellies up.

Violence is the destruction of all this.

violence is transversal

violence is patriarchal

and anyone who has internalized systems of power, authority, hierarchies, meaning each of us – is capable of violence

it's just that some people get it more.

if they are women, if they are children, if they show signs of what is understood as fragility, if they are different in any way from the norm psychological violence is extremely dangerous because it is talked about little because survivors think they deserve it and increasingly lose their sense of their own identity who am I? what do I like? what do I want? is this my thought? whose thought is this? When we recognize violence, we regain our power. At the end of the performance, there will be a Q&A with the show team.
