He is president of the Shakespeare Foundation (Craiova), vice-president of the European Network of Shakespeare Festivals, member of the UNITER Senate. During the period in which he led the National Theater in Craiova, it was projected into the center of attention of the world of performance, becoming one of the most appreciated theaters in Central and Eastern Europe, with participation in major international festivals, laureates of prestigious international and national awards . Remarkable, in this sense, was the collaboration with director Silviu Purcărete. In 2020, he founded the Poetry Theater "Poesis", where he evolves in the great tradition of the actor reciting poetry. Emil Boroghină is a very important reciter, supporting shows of great sensitivity, selecting fundamental poets, Dante, Shakespeare, Nichita Stănescu, Mihai Eminescu, Ovidiu. Among such shows: From Shakespeare and Hamlet to Eugen Ionescu and Bérenger (2013), Recitind l pe Eminescu... La steaua care-a rasărit (2014), Stronger than death is love - from the love poetry of the world, Tel Aviv (Singing of Songs, sonnets by Dante Aligheri, Francesco Petrarca, Michelangelo, Pierre de Ronsard, William Shakespeare and Mihai Eminescu, 2015), Recitindu l pe Shakespeare – The whole world is a stage and all men are actors (2016), Ovidiu – Sorrows and Pontices (2015-2020), Song of the Ages – folk poetry show (2019), Dante’s Journey (performed on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, 2021). "I saw Phaedra in Brussels and I was fascinated by the directing art of Silviu Purcărete, the strength of these refined actors - Leni Pințea Homeag, Ilie Gheorghe, Angel Rababoc - the plastic expressiveness of the choir. The impression was not only of a great show, but also of a great spiritual family, of an exceptional team spirit. This fact is due, I think, equally to Silviu Purcărete but also to Emil Boroghină, a great ambassador of the Romanian theater."

Ruth Valentini "Le Nouvel Observateur" January 15, 1995

"He placed his life under the sign of dedication and fulfillment. On the one hand, Shakespeare was his companion and, then, he found support in the rare books that found a world and transmit a wisdom. In Emil Boroghină, what captivates is a cello sound, because he expresses himself cautiously, with emotion: in behind the lyrics we identify the subtly modulated discretion of a performer who exposes himself in all his humanity! The actor's recital is also an affective x-ray. Thanks to these unquenchable loves, Emil enjoys the agreement with age that did not damage him, but, on the contrary, brightened him up. He didn't betray, he defended!"

George Banu, Emil Boroghină at the age of eighty, "SpectActor" no. 2/2020

When I think of Emil Boroghină, whose service I have benefited from since he brought to London, in 1997, the earth-shattering performance of Silviu Purcărete's Titus Andronicus, and whom I am lucky enough to have known personally for more than a decade, the thought takes me to a remarkable figure in my own national culture. It is about David Garrick, the 18th-century actor and manager who ran London's Theater Royal, Drury Lane, England's de facto national theater from the 1740s to the 1770s.
