SEMIOTICS OF THE BANK by Cristi Nedelcu - book launch - National Theater Marin Sorescu
The volume, published by the Junimea publishing house, will be presented by prof. univ. dr. Cristiana Teodorescu and Mihai Firică, president of the Craiova Branch of the Romanian Writers' Union.
The event will be moderated by Nicolae Coande.
"Semiotics of the bank" represents Cristi Nedelcu's doctoral thesis, defended in 2016 at the "Alexandru Piru" Doctoral School of the University of Craiova under the guidance of Prof. Univ. Dr. Cristiana Teodorescu.
About the thesis, Eugen Negrici wrote "Cristi Nedelcu's volume dedicated to the bench as a form of comic expression represents one of the few Romanian contributions to the rigorous knowledge of this complex communicative phenomenon. The coherent, methodical and unitary approach to the subject, the precision of the argumentation, the mastery of theoretical tools, the assimilation of an imposing biography, as well as the range of examples pave the way for us to establish a true semiotics of the bank".
Cristi Nedelcu (b. 1969) is a writer, journalist and blogger. He debuted in 1992 in the magazine "Dilema" and published essays, theater and prose. Three of his plays are performed on the stages of theaters in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Târgoviște and Craiova.

The most recent premiere of the Craiova National, "Sand Birds" directed by Alexandru Boureanu and Raluca Păun is based on the text written by Cristi Nedelcu.
